Talent is the top priority for the development of a company. The key to the company's talent cultivation lies in the improvement of the training system and the establishment of an instructor team. To assist the company in building an in-house trainer team, on November 5, 2022, the company specially invited Teacher Chen Xiong, a senior TTT training instructor, to conduct a one-day training on the professional skills improvement of in-house trainers. On-site, 80 trainees were divided into 6 groups according to their business types: the Team of Perfection in All Products, the Team of the Most Professional Beauty, the Team of Constant Pursuit of Perfection, the Team of Ingenious TFC, the Team of Competence and Fulfillment of Duties, and the Team of Maintaining Passion. This training was carried out around five modules: course introduction, experience sorting and extraction, courseware design and development, courseware production and beautification, and content presentation and teaching.
1.Course Introduction - Smile, Settle, and Speak
A relaxed learning atmosphere is an important prerequisite for trainees to acquire knowledge. A good training field not only attracts trainees to participate in the training but also triggers their understanding and thinking of the knowledge. When the instructor confidently steps onto the stage, looks around, and is full of confidence and energy, it marks the beginning of a good training session. Trainees performed the opening trilogy of "smile, settle, and speak" on-site, and they deeply understood the essence in the lively practical operation atmosphere.
2.Experience Sorting and Extraction - Three Steps of Theme, Structure, and Experience Extraction
Experience comes from business. By using the thinking mode and methods of experience extraction, excellent practical cases and failure cases in actual work situations are extracted, and a case library is optimized and formed. On-site, groups were formed to conduct experience exchanges. Each group selected its own training theme and reasonably chose the teaching structure to bring the experience back to the business.
3.Courseware Design and Development - The 102030 Rule
The courseware design only requires 10 pages of PPT, the time should not exceed 20 minutes, and the font size should not be smaller than 30. As in-house trainers of the enterprise, we should understand the difference between education and training. The cramming and formalized theoretical education cannot impart knowledge and solve doubts. What we really need to do is to train others on how to avoid mistakes and how to do things better. Using teaching principles and based on the five-step development method, TFC Micro-classrooms are established, focusing on problems, activating old knowledge, demonstrating new knowledge, applying new knowledge, and achieving a thorough understanding. On-site, by rehearsing the sequencing of courseware, trainees' understanding of the courseware structure was deepened.
4.Courseware Production and Beautification - 4 Don'ts and 5 Suggestions
A single word is worth a thousand pieces of gold, and a picture is better than a thousand words. Each teaching PPT page has a separate name to summarize the content. Avoid using highly theoretical words such as definitions, meanings, theories, and concepts. It is recommended to use words with strong practicality such as tools, techniques, methods, processes, and models. Use the KISS extraction method (Keep It Simple and Stupid), simplicity is beauty.
5. Content Presentation and Teaching - Three Skills of Questioning, Responding, and Commenting
In the interaction, there are questions and answers. Questioning and teaching are alternately used according to a specific chatting rhythm to obtain conversation information from the questions. There are also skills in commenting on trainees' answers. Whether the answers are correct or not, affirmation and encouragement should be given. When facing trainees' questions, admit what you know and what you don't know, and respond calmly. Teacher Chen conducted on-site rehearsals and completed the curriculum framework of the seven QC techniques during the interaction with trainees.
At the end of the event, the Team of Perfection in All Products won the first place, the Team of Competence and Fulfillment of Duties won the second place, and the Team of Constant Pursuit of Perfection won the third place. One minute on the stage requires ten years of practice off the stage.
