ICC News From March 26 to 28, the 49th Optical Networking and Communication Conference & Exhibition (OFC 2024) successfully concluded in San Diego, USA. At this year's OFC exhibition, 800G/1.6T optical modules, single-wave 200G optical chips, LPO, silicon photonics & CPO, and thin film lithium niobate and other optical communication technologies became the focus of attention. With the rapid advancement of technology, 800G and even higher-speed optical modules are gradually becoming mainstream, all of which require the support of high-speed optical components. At the same time, as devices move towards more miniaturization, this also poses higher requirements on the manufacturing process. Thailand Factory to Commence Production, Supporting Global Business Layout

In order to meet the needs of overseas customers, TFC Communication actively established overseas production and manufacturing bases. Ms. Ouyang introduced that the biggest change for TFC Communication in 2024 is that the company's Thailand factory is about to complete construction and commence production. The first factory building is scheduled for delivery at the end of April, with the second factory building planned for delivery in October. It is understood that the Thailand factory will cover an area of 40,000 square meters, focusing on the production of passive optical components and subcontracted products for optical engines.

 With the gradual completion of the Thailand factory, TFC Communication will form a networked three-dimensional layout with dual headquarters in Suzhou and Singapore, multiple research and development centers in places like Suzhou, Shenzhen, Japan, as well as large-scale production bases in Jiangxi and Thailand to quickly and deeply respond to customer's customized development and production delivery requirements, helping TFC Communication to become a globally competitive optical device enterprise.

 

Vertical Integration, Innovative Research and Development, Providing Customers with One-Stop Optical Device Solutions

In terms of product technology, facing the surge in AI computing power and the urgent demand for high throughput and high bandwidth in data centers, the performance requirements of products continue to increase. Future products will develop towards high integration, low power consumption, and high reliability. Following the trend changes in optical communication technology, since going public in 2015, TFC Communication has expanded its product and technology offerings to meet the different solution needs of customers through three rounds of financing and three acquisitions, including key technologies such as AWG technology, LENS lens technology and coating, wavelength division multiplexing, and TFF micro-optical components, which have addressed customer requirements and pain points. TFC Communication's multiple research and development centers can balance efficient division of labor and mutual coordination, for example, the research center in Japan has nearly 40 years of optical design and research history, with a high industry reputation in high-precision plastic lenses (LENS), while the Aurora Optoelectronics team positioned as the research center in Shenzhen focuses on coating and glass cold processing optical component product development, sharing the Thailand factory and Jiangxi production base to achieve low-cost manufacturing with rapid delivery.
